Democratic Stupid Majority

In late June, after 8 months in election limbo, former comedian Al Franken's Senate seat victory was confirmed and a Democratic supermajority was born.

It seemed nothing could block the president and people's mandate for change. Health care and climate change reform were on their way! Wrong Wrong Wrong.

Real health care reform seems more and more out of reach by the day. Votes are delayed and hopes for a public option look grim. Discussions of single-payer system remained not only off the table, but still locked in a dark closet some where.

Climate change reform is still on the shelf and will be, at least till next year. Democrats have made so many concessions to opponents and lobbyists, if and when bills get passed, they're nearly gutted of any true reform.

The Daily Show illustrates these dilemmas far better and funnier than I can:

What I hate most about this: Democrats find ways to fail constantly. Its like they're always waiting for next election. Fine, wait till 2010 elections. Hopefully then people will turn out to vote like they did for the presidential election and get rid of some of you roadblock congressmen(or women).
